The snow

Yes, it's cold and slippery. A driver has to be careful not to slide into a ditch.

But the winter has been almost snow-free - and very dreary. The dark ground sucks up the light like a sponge.

The snow reflects the light and brightens up the whole world. More light makes me a happy lady.

I can't wait for longer days and a little warmer weather.

Thanks for visiting with me.

Christian shirts, cups, etc.

I'm designing t-shirts, coffee cups and other items on Zazzle and Prinitfy. Many of them have Christian themes.

Please look at them in these places.

I wrote two books this year to supplement Bible stories. They cite extraBiblical sources, archaeology finds and my own input.

You can find these and other things I've written here.

It would bless me if you looked at my work and see if there is anything you are interested in.

My New Year's Wish

1 In your day of trouble, may the Lord be with you! May the God of Jacob keep you from all harm.

May he send you aid from his sanctuary in Zion.

May he remember with pleasure the gifts you have given him, your sacrifices and burnt offerings.

May he grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.

May there be shouts of joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you. May he answer all your prayers!

I pray all God's Best for you in the New Year.

It's easiest to find my designs if you look under collections. I've included the link above.

Here are a couple of the products I mentioned in my last post.

Please check out the link and see if you might get some Christmas ideas.

New Enterprise

Hi, all. I haven't been here for quite a while because, in my view, there wasn't much new to say.

But a few things have happened.

My Mother-in-law turned 99 in July and we went to her party in Florida. It was hot and humid, but the family was fun to be with. I crocheted her an aqua triangle shawl. Since I've made her several shawls already, I told her she could keep it or give it away.

She said, "Let them get their own daughter-in-law to crochet them shawls."

My sister Anne died in May. I think it was the three shots. Her heart quit working and that's all we know for sure. No autopsy.

Now that I've retired (as of Feb. 10), I'm working on some new projects. I wrote a book in the first 3 1/2 months called Stories They Don't Teach in Sunday School: Beginnings. I have the second book in the works, but haven't really concentrated on it. This one is Stories They Don't Teach in Sunday School: Wanderings.

I also started designing shirts, coffee cups, baseball hats, etc. on Zazzle.

My main goal on Zazzle (and hopefully on Printify/my Etsy store) is to put out Christian sayings that people can wear or use to remind themselves and others about how important Jesus is in our lives.

I would be honored if you would please go and look at the items in my store and see if any of them tickle your fancy. Also please share the store name with others who might be interested in sharing Jesus.

Thanks for visiting with me.

Haven't Stopped Crocheting

When the quarantine hit this spring, all of the volunteers at the local hospital were put on hold. That included me and my prayer shawls. Since no one was doing visits for hospice care, they didn't need my handiwork.

Somehow that didn't deter me from keeping up with my crocheting. I can't just sit and watch TV. I have to do something with my hands.

I've come up with a plan for this stack of prayer shawls and lap robes. It involves Christmas. I'm betting that most of them will be going to hospice people by the end of the year. Plan to be laid out in a later blog. Right now, it is not for public consumption.

I have a few more to make and then my plan will come together.

The hospital sent me a letter which arrived just yesterday saying that volunteers are welcome to come back. They don't have to if they don't want to just yet.

Everything may have changed, but my hobby hasn't.

Here are a couple of afghans that I made as gifts for those I love.

Change of Plans

I see where at the beginning of the year I said that I meant to do more writing. It has plagued me that I haven't come up with ideas that I really wanted to talk about. The virus changed the interpretation of things I wanted to say - so I didn't say them.

In any event, I got a smartphone at the beginning of the quarantine and have been making videos ever since and posting them to youtube. I feel like I'm able to "teach" again and that feeds my soul.

If you would like to see my face or hear my voice, you can check out the videos here: https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UClxRmmRfHJjUk2YFPDLl6iw/videos/upload?filter=%5B%5D&sort=%7B%22columnType%22%3A%22date%22%2C%22sortOrder%22%3A%22DESCENDING%22%7D

Or you can go to youtube and type in "Kathi Linz".

Thank you for visiting with me. Stay well and stay safe.
