Lunch Between Friends

A writer/storyteller friend of mine, Sharon Kirk Clifton, had moved away for a while and recently moved back to town.  She unpacked a good part of her goods and invited me and another young writer/friend, Natalie, to her place for lunch.

We had excellent food, good discussion, laughter, encouragement, and a generally excellent time.  Lunch stretched from about noon to 4:30 and we could have kept going except Natalie and I both had other commitments.

We've decided to get together regularly and continue the party.  Sharon, if you need a name, how about "The Society of Friends"?  (lol and yet semi-serious)

Thanks for visiting with me.

New Sidewalk

When we took down our HUGE tree, several parts landed on the sidewalk and crushed the heck out of it.

I put buckets in the worst spots during the winter so that no one would trip over the broken parts.

On Wednesday, the city guys came out to take out the old...

After the old sidewalk was gone, they framed the part that would get cement the next day.

...followed by a layer of gravel.

Topped with cement.

Smoothed with cool equipment.

Add a day for curing and you get this...

This is good!

Thanks for visiting with me,

Early spring and Abby's allergies

I love early spring when everything is in bloom and the air is clean and cool.  This year, just as everything started blooming, Abby's eyes swelled almost shut and looked weepy.  We're going to have to put her on allergy medicine every spring during lilac season.  I don't know if it's the lilacs that are affecting her, but whatever it is blooms at the same time.  Alas!
